This project began in 2011 after Richard Brzozowski gave a talk to members of the Brunswick/Topsham Land Trust (BTLT), in which he recommended their members collaborate with Extension Master Gardener Volunteers. The mission of the Tom Settlemire Community Garden is to provide intergenerational organic gardening opportunities, increase the availability of locally grown food for the alleviation of hunger in the community (through MCHPP), and offer experiential gardening education at a nominal cost to the people of the greater Brunswick and Topsham area. At BTLT, MGVs often assist newly arrived immigrants with gardening plots. Master Gardener Linton Studdiford initiated the Winter Gardening lecture series which continues to this day. Project Coordinators: Judith Long.
