February 5th & 12th. This two-night class focused on Honeybee Colony health management through IPM strategies. This class will focus on understanding the organisms that pose threats to colony health, early identification of symptoms, and creating a whole system approach to colony health management that works with the bee's natural habits. This 5-week class is designed for new beekeepers, prior to their first year of bees, or it can be a great refresher course for beekeepers just now going into their first winter season. Wednesdays, March 4th & 11th. This class teaches beekeepers to be more sustainable through the production and use of nucleus colonies and backyard queen production. Students learn how to produce and manage nucs for increase and hedging against winter loss and how to rear queens from their own hives. Topics include equipment, management, overwintering and more.
