The Ronald McDonald House has helped millions of families with sick children find comfort and support when they need it most. Robin started volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in 2015 and officially took over the gardens in 2016 after finding a corporate sponsor. The Urban Garden Center provides plants and makes a monetary donation each year for improving the garden structure. The money they donated has allowed for the installation of a patio in the lower garden, add cobblestone edging, and stone benches in 2016. In 2017, their donation allowed them to repair the playground and purchase a beautiful new swing set. In 2018, their donation is being used for a new gate, which is still in progress. During the first couple of years in the garden, they focused on much needed thinning, weeding, and pruning. Over the past few years, many perennials have been replaced and the gardens redesigned to make room for the numerous colorful annuals provided by Urban Garden Center. The goal has been to create a full season of bloom throughout the garden. Over the past couple of summers we have also purchased beautiful planters which add a nice focal point in the garden.
