Welcome to Maine Home Garden News! I hope the information in each issue of this newsletter will help you appreciate the beauty and wonder of plants in your landscape. We wish you a beautiful and bountiful growing season ahead.

In addition to this practical newsletter, your local UMaine Extension county office is available to assist you with gardening advice and information. The University of Maine Cooperative Extension also has numerous fact sheets and video clips to help you learn and grow.

Sincerely,
Katherine Garland, Co-Editor — Maine Home Garden News

The Maine Home Garden Newsletter is a collaboration between UMaine Extension staff, volunteers and community partners.

Please, let us know about the difference we have made in your gardening endeavors!

We hope you’ve enjoyed another year of Maine Home Garden News (MHGN). To continue receiving funding, UMaine Extension is asked to indicate what impacts we have made on the people we served in the past year. We would also like to take the opportunity to gather your input regarding the topics presented in the 2021 season of MHGN. This survey should take only about 10 minutes to complete.

Thank you for taking the time to help us let our stakeholders know about the difference we have made in your gardening endeavors. Go to the survey to participate.

On behalf of the entire MHGN team,
Kate Garland, Horticulturist

Maine Home Garden News was created in response to a continued increase in requests for information on gardening and includes timely and seasonal tips, as well as research-based articles on all aspects of gardening. Articles are written by UMaine Extension specialists, educators, and horticulture professionals, as well as Master Gardener Volunteers from around Maine. The following staff and volunteer team take great care editing content, designing the web and email platforms, maintaining email lists, and getting hard copies mailed to those who don’t have access to the internet: Abby Zelz*, Annika Schmidt*, Barbara Harrity*, Cindy Eves-Thomas, Kate Garland, Mary Michaud, Michelle Snowden, Naomi Jacobs*, Phoebe Call*, and Wendy Robertston.
