What is a Steer Ticket Raffle?

Annually, a steer is donated for a 4-H member to raise throughout the summer. Once it is mature, a local butcher shop processes the meat. Tickets are sold $1 each and the winner is chosen on the last day of the Blue Hill Fair. The raffle winner then picks up the meat at the local butcher shop. We can also arrange it to be delivered

Who Benefits?

The Steer Ticket Raffle is one of the largest fundraisers for the Hancock County 4-H Leaders’ Association. The funds raised are used to support the 4-H programs you love all year long – Cloverfest, June Jamboree, Public Speaking, Style Revue, Leaders Banquet, and so much more! We rely on our strong 4-H community to deliver quality youth programs in Hancock County.

Where do I Buy Tickets?

There are a variety of convenient ways to purchase 4-H Steer Raffle Tickets this year:

  1. Send exact cash or check (made payable to Hancock County 4-H Leaders Association), the number of tickets you would like, and the name/address/phone to be included on the tickets, to the Hancock County office: 63 Boggy Brook Road, Ellsworth, ME 04605. We will enter your information onto the number of tickets you requested and paid for, and put those tickets into the raffle bin. Tickets will be available to purchase in summer 2021.
  2. COMING SOON! Purchase tickets online via our Pay Pal and a 4-H volunteer will fill out your tickets for you.
  3. Check with your local 4-H member or volunteers to purchase tickets directly.
  4. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Blue Hill Fair on  September 1st through 5th. The drawing will be held on Labor Day, September 6th.
