Join us for a hands-on workshop designed for farmers seeking natural and respectful ways to manage livestock losses. Hosted on a working farm, this session will walk you through the composting process using real-life examples, including actual livestock mortalities, to show how you can turn a difficult situation into healthy, fertile soil. You’ll learn the science, the steps, and the tools to do it safely, legally, and sustainably.

Topics covered include:

  • Compost Biology
  • Compost Feedstocks
  • Compost Site Selection
  • Troubleshooting Compost Piles
  • Compost Pile Construction
  • Compost End Use

Participants will receive a complimentary registration to an optional webinar on livestock and equine death and grief management on August 15.
