Greenhouse Education Program

University of Maine Cooperative Extension is launching the Greenhouse Education Program, to provide practical, research-based education on greenhouse production and greenhouse technologies for Maine growers.

The program is designed for farmers, commercial growers, homesteaders, hobby growers, and others interested in greenhouse production. A key goal of the program is to deliver greenhouse education in every Maine county, expanding access to reliable, locally relevant training across the state.

The program begins with Basics of Greenhouse Technology, a one-hour introductory workshop covering greenhouse structures, heating, cooling, ventilation, automation, and practical solutions for small and mid-size operations. Additional modules planned for Fall 2026 will address topics such as greenhouse design, environmental management, root-zone systems, water quality and sanitation, and emerging technologies.

Please check out The Greenhouse Education Program page for updated schedules for programming in your county and sign up for our mailing list.
