What are some alternative feeds I can use to keep feed costs down for my pigs?

Answer:

Some feeds like beans and potatoes need to be cooked to be able to be utilized by pigs. Pigs can also be fed table, vegetable or meat scraps but the farmer needs a special permit and the products need to be cooked before feeding to the pigs. Pigs can get some nutrients from forages when they are allowed to graze. None of these products can make up more than 30% of the pigs diet. The rest of the diet needs to be grain based corn, oats, soybeans, etc.
