4-H in Penobscot County

smiling 4-Hers4-H is the youth development education program of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. 4-H participants range from ages 5 to 19 and, traditionally, organize themselves into 4-H clubs to support each other as they take on “learn-by-doing” projects. Young people can also become involved in 4-H through 4-H school enrichment programs, 4-H camps, by creating individual 4-H projects of their own, and many other activities. 4-H teaches young people life skills necessary for success in life. Employment Opportunity:
The University of Maine Cooperative Extension Penobscot and Piscataquis County Offices invite applications for a full-time Community Education Assistant CL2 in 4-H. The employee will work 40 hours per week to support 4-H clubs, groups, and activities in Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties.  Duties include recruiting new youth and volunteers, helping to train 4-H volunteers and support them in carrying out the educational mission of the 4-H program, coordinating volunteer efforts, delivering educational programs using established curriculum, and organizing county 4-H events. The University of Maine Cooperative Extension County offices are located in Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft. The applicant will work from both offices. This position pays $14.30/hr.
