University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a four–week course in able gardening starting April 10, noon – 2:30 p.m., at the UMaine Extension Penobscot County office, 307 Maine Avenue, Bangor. Remaining classes meet April 17, and 24, and May 1.
The course is for individual gardeners and service providers supporting gardeners with physical or cognitive challenges that may impact their ability to garden. Focusing on individual abilities will be the theme as presenters share information about adaptive tools, planting strategies, pest management, and practical affordable garden design recommendations to help make gardening more approachable, safe and fun. Significant time will be dedicated to discussion, networking and sharing ideas.
