4-H Teen Hangouts

  • Date/ Time: October 26, 2021, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
  • Ages: 13+, Statewide, 4-H, and non-4-H

Join 4-H Teen Leader Maddie G. and 4-H Staff Jen L. for two 1-hour sessions online to get to know other teens from around the state. We will focus on a fun theme for each gathering, like movie night, glow stick night, and more!

STEM Challenge: Galactic Quest

Intro to the Human Body

  • This 5-week SPIN club will be tested with the Brewer Library virtual group.
  • Ages: 8-12
  • Facilitators: Sheila N. and Emily M.

This 5-week Special Interest club will look at the anatomy of five systems that make the human body work: the digestive, neurological, skeletal, respiratory, and circulatory systems. Each session will include a hands-on activity.

Science of Tidepools

  • Dates: Tuesday afternoons, April 12-May 17, 2022 with an in-person field day April 22, 2022 (South Portland)

Explore the intertidal zone and help with marine science research! In this workshop, we will learn about animals you might find during low tide and use some amazing equipment to take awesome pictures on your phone to identify them. Along the way, we’ll learn about invasive species, climate change, species identification, and how you can participate in research by just taking a picture.

Adulting 101

This 6-week Special Interest club will focus on helping teens learn important life skills as well as what resources exist to help them be successful in the adult world. Topics will include finances, health and safety, and job/college application processes.
