Meet the Spring 2022 Intern

Katarina Minas

Katarina’s internship is about teaching children scientific ideas and helping to develop hands-on skills important in many career paths in aquatic animal husbandry. She will also help expand the Maine 4-H Aquaponics Program to increase the number of students that can participate over the summer as well as introduce this program to schools throughout Maine. The internship will help her gain new skills such as running an aquaponics tank and a turtle tank.

Katarina applied to this internship to learn new skills in aquatic animal husbandry and to see if teaching children would be a good option for her to pursue as a career path.

Her goal for this internship is to connect with people in aquatic animal husbandry and to see if teaching children and running an aquaponics tank would be the best fit for her future.
