Description:

– perennial

-leaf blade is 5–13 mm in width

-spikelet 1.9–2.3 mm in length

-inflorescence

– may be confused with D. acuminatum , which also occurs in wild blueberry fields; see left sidebar of Go Botany webpage

Habitat:

-disturbed sites

-meadows and fields

-shores of rivers

Natural History:

-native to eastern North America
