Mid-Coast Field Day

When: Saturday, June 6, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Location: Brodis Blueberries, 87 Jones Hill Rd, Off of Route 235, can not come from the town of Appleton, Jones Hill Rd, Hope, ME 04847
Cost: Free

Join us for a morning filled with hands-on information for organic and conventional growers! You can receive 1 pesticide credit by attending this event.

9:00-10:00 Pest Management

This session will cover the basics of weed, insect and disease management for organic and conventional producers. Speakers will include Drs. Lily Calderwood, Phil Fanning, and Seanna Annis

10:00-11:00 Fresh Pack Hour 

This hour will include a fresh pack line and facility tour, the importance of cooling, fresh pack business budgets with Ron Howard and Lily Calderwood, and distribution with Ethan Braley (GMF Produce).

11:00-12:00 Food Safety and Harvesters

This session will cover the current food safety research findings with Dr. Jen Perry (UMaine), followed by a brief overview of cleaning products with Lindsay Werner (DACF), and a harvester discussion with Advanced Manufacturing Center staff (UMaine). 

Lunch

After lunch, you are invited to stay for an update on the Maine Wild Blueberry Growers’ Association.


Downeast Field Day (Blueberry Hill Farm Field Day)
