Description:

-annual

-simple and alternate leaves

-“petals” are actually sepals; flowers are at the top of the inflorescence, very small and greenish to rose

  • fused into a tube

-spike-like raceme

Habitat:

-moist

-meadows and fields

-anthropogenic areas
