Description:

-perennial

-only white goldenrod in the Eastern U.S.

-has white ray flowers

-has a yellow coloration due to the stamens and pollen

-leaves are :

  • simple
  • alternate
  • entire
  • increase in size towards the base of the plant

-generally flowers August through October in ME

Habitat:

-disturbed areas

-meadows and fields

-woodlands

Agriculture:

-benefits from prescribed burning
