Ugly Fruit & Vegetable Photo Contest Winner!
Food waste is a huge issue and fruits and vegetables that are considered ugly are often thrown away while still edible. So with your help we celebrated the under-appreciated beauty of ugly fruits and vegetables that you grew. Sue entered this German Johnson tomato grown from her small vegetable garden where she grows mostly tomatoes, peppers and herbs. She and her husband retired to Boothbay Harbor about five years ago and they have had a garden every year. While it was hard to figure out where to slice the tomato they still ate it and tell us that it was very good.
