Interseeding Cover Crop Webinar

August 14 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

July and August are ideal times for seeding cover crops over your vegetable crops. This practice, called interseeding,Cash crop interseeded with cover crops
stabilizes soils during the growing season, reduces weed populations, and results in an established cover crop in place at the termination of the cash crop.

The UMaine Cooperative Extension and AgroEcology Lab research team, with support from Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education
(SARE), are investigating this practice. In the third year of the project, the research is showing great potential.

Join our team for a lunch time virtual discussion on what has worked and what has not. We’ll discuss cover crop seeding timing, seeding methods, equipment, species selection, and more.

There will be plenty of time for questions.

There is no cost for this event.
