Cost: $25

Learn the basic steps for safely canning and freezing garden vegetables during Preserving the Harvest, a hands-on workshop led by Abbie Perry, a UMaine Extension Master Food Preserver Volunteer.

Participants will learn recommended food preservation methods, receive current safe recipes, review equipment safety and learn how to determine whether jars are properly sealed. Participants will also receive a Preserving the Harvest packet. Please bring a potholder to the workshop.

The cost is $25 total, including a $5 registration fee and a $20 materials fee paid directly to the instructor at class. Registration is managed by MSAD 54 Adult and Community Education and is required by Oct. 5.
