Season Cooking Class

Cost: Free

Join us for a 6-session class that will focus on nutritional education and food safety for those that are 55+. The classes are designed to be “make and take,”where participants assist in the making of a nutritious meal that will then be packaged and taken home to be eaten later. There is no fee for the class, but space is limited. You may sign up for all sessions, or only those that interest you.

  • Session 1: Focus on Vegetables
    Friday, May 2, 2025, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
    This session will focus on vegetables (sodium). We will be making carrot ginger soup and a tomato tart.
  • Session 2: Focus on Fruit
    Friday, May 9, 2025, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
    This session will focus on fruit (sugar). We will be making a blueberry spinach salad and baked pears.
  • Session 3: Great Grains
    Friday, May 16, 2025 1:00-3:00 p.m.
    This session will focus on grains (fiber-folate). We will be making kamut and chicken casserole.
  • Session 4: Dairy Delicious Dinners
    Friday, May 23, 2025 1:00-3:00 p.m.
    This session will focus on dairy (calcium-vitamin D). We will be making loaded potato soup and pudding.
  • Session 5: Protein Power
    Friday, May 30, 2025 1:00-3:00 p.m.
    This session will focus on protein (protein-fat). We will be making stuffed shells.
  • Session 6: Summer Salads
    Friday, June 6, 2025 1:00-3:00 p.m.
    This session will focus on summer salads that have it all (food safety). Pasta salad, rice salad, and sweet salad, too.
