4-H Maple Sugaring 101

Location: The meetings will be online with the members from Penobscot, Piscataquis, and other Counties, followed by hands-on experience in your county.

Dates:  There will be 3 online meetings:
6:00 pm Sunday, Feb. 7
6:00 pm  Sunday, Feb. 14
6:00 pm  Sunday, Feb. 28

The hands-on meeting days will depend on the weather and when the sap is running. In person meetings will be at the Mattakeunk Maple sugar house in Lee.

The 4-H Maple Sugaring 101 club will be limited to 10 members in Penobscot County, so enroll quickly if you can make a commitment to attend most of the meetings.
Youth will learn about tapping maple trees, gathering sap, boiling and bottling the finished syrup, and marketing the finished product.
