Starting Seeds Indoors

April 8 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

| FREE

Gardeners of all ages are invited to join us for a hands-on workshop on starting seeds indoors. Kate Garland, Horticulturist with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, will provide a 30-minute overview of best practices for successful seed starting, including timing, lighting, soil selection, and care. The program will conclude with a make-and-take activity, and participants will leave with newly sown seeds to grow at home and transplant into their own gardens.

At the same time, UMaine Cooperative Extension 4‑H Community Education Assistant Emily Bishop will lead youth in engaging, seed‑themed activities designed just for them. The session will include a lively read‑aloud connected to seed starting, followed by a hands‑on activity where each child plants a seed to take home and care for as it grows.

For more information or to request a reasonable accommodation, please contact: Nicole Brennan (she/her/hers), Assistant Director Millinocket Memorial Library 207.723.7020 www.millinocketlib.org Receiving requests for accommodations at least 7 days before the program provides a reasonable amount of time to meet the request; however, all requests will be considered.
