Extension Leadership Team Minutes
102B Libby Hall, Orono
August 20, 2015

Facilitator: Jon Prichard

Note taker: Dennis Harrington

Plant, Animal, and Insect Lab (PAIL) update: Dennis reported that the planning effort for the PAIL facility has entered the schematic phase during which the first draft of a floor plan will be created. This phase will last through fall.

Camps Update: Jon reported that the camps are experiencing a positive year with all three at or near maximum enrollment; and projections for a strong fall school program.

Supervisory changes: With the addition of Richard Brzozowski as program administrator on September 1st the ELT renegotiated the matrix of supervision for campus and county-based staff. John Rebar will send out an announcement during the last week of August.

Non-represented Professional Promotion Process: Given the growth in the number of professional positions within Extension in recent years, and specifically an increase in the number of non-represented professionals, John, Lisa and Jon agreed to extend the professional promotion process to non-represented professionals. Criteria for promotion, classifications and the format for the packet that will be required will be developed by John with input from the Program Administrators. John will contact UMaine Human Resources regarding the appropriate approvals that will be required by the upper administration of UMaine and the UMS.
