Diagnostic Lab Update
President Hunter has approved the 9 million dollar project budget with a 1.7 million dollar contingency fund. We are in the detailed design phase with contstruction to begin early 2017 with a construction completion date of December 2017. A video that included the latest information was sent to the organization about the site and project.

UMaine Paid Student Internships
The ELT learned that UCONN has implemented a paid student internship program through their Cooperative Extension that appears to be very successful. We encourage our staff to pursue the possibilities of paid internships with departments they have relationships and that staff explore creative funding possibilities through program fees, grants and other external dollars. At this time we do not have funding we can dedicate to this opportunity.

CONGRATULATIONS:

 Congratulations to Ron Fournier who has been awarded $23,800 from the State of Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to support the 4-H shooting sports program.

 Search Updates:

The coordinator of the Maine Food and Agriculture Center has been selected and the job has been offered. 

Two candidates for the Extension Livestock Educator are scheduled to be interviewed on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
