The ELT is alerting all employees who use P-cards and T-cards that fiscal year-end reconciliations will be mandatory: What that means is that employees who have purchasing and travel expenses that need to be reconciled, must clear all transactions as soon as possible. UMaine administration is adamant that employees follow through on their responsibility to manage their cards consistent with policies and procedures. ELT members will be following up with the most egregious offenders. However, ALL employees will be expected to comply with reconciling their outstanding purchase and travel expenses by the end of FY 2017 (June 30, 2017).
The Plant, Animal and Insect Lab (PAIL) building project is progressing slightly ahead of schedule. The Fish Lab is in an active planning stage with the goal of starting construction on the Fish Lab by July 1. The PAIL will be profiled in an upcoming article in the spring/summer edition of UMaine Today.
Marketing: Audrey Cross is being moved to full-time and will assume responsibility for marketing for all of Cooperative Extension and not just for the Maine Food and Agriculture Center. Audrey retains her half-time role with the Maine Food and Agriculture Center. Audrey will also be joining the iPET team. Dana Rickman will still continue in her role as the Cooperative Extension liaison with UMaine Marketing and Communications and assisting with the editing and approval of media releases and promotional materials while ensuring compliance with UMaine branding standards.
Civil Rights Mock Review: In support of our civil rights goals and requirements, Fran will be conducting three civil rights reviews by late Fall 2017. Fran will be in touch with the counties selected and the Program Administrator for that county will be part of the review.
