2021 University of Maine Cooperative Extension Faculty Laptop Incentive Program (FLIP)

Request for Proposals: Apple or Dell

Exclusively for UMaine Extension Faculty and Professional Staff:

This is a request for proposal application submissions to purchase Apple Laptops, iPad Pro, or Dell Laptops (Standard Computer Options). The cost covers warranties and the Microsoft Office package is included.

Successful proposal application submissions (Criteria and Requirements) will be awarded 50% of the total cost up to $750 for laptops or iPads supported by UMaine’s Academic Affairs and IT Division for faculty.

Deadline for Form Submissions: March 1, 2021

The award decision will be made by a review team. Priority will be given to staff members who have not previously participated in the program.

Please complete and submit the FLIP Program Proposal Application Form below before March 1, 2021. The review team will meet soon thereafter to review proposals and make awards.

Criteria and Requirements:

  • You must use the laptop to directly benefit those you reach through your educational programming or applied research, or your work in supporting Extension programming, fundraising, or administrative efforts.
  • You must be able to cover the remaining balance of the purchase price from an approved grant budget, gift, County Special account, County Extension Association account, or personal funds.
  • No matter the source of the funds, the device is the property of the University of Maine.

Please Note: County Technology Funds may be used for your portion of the cost.

Standard Computer Options:

All laptop options listed below come with warranties and Microsoft Office (customized options are available). In making your decision, please take into consideration the compatibility with office co-workers.
