Maine 4-H Foundation: The Foundation annual meeting will be May 16th.  Audrey Chapman has resigned as the Executive Director effective June 15, 2013. We thank Audrey for her commitment and dedication to the Maine 4-H Foundation. Lisa Phelps and John Rebar will be following up with the Foundation board about next steps.

Future Planning Session at the Organizational Meeting: The ELT reviewed the notes from the future planning session at the Organizational Meeting and Fran will also share the summary notes with the organization.

Announcements

Fee-for Service agreements and working with the Department of Industrial Cooperation (DIC): DIC administrates all formal agreements between the University and non-Federal or State entities doing fee-for-service work. If Extension staff is planning to do paid work under an agreement with a company, it is important to contact Dennis Harrington prior to entering into an agreement to discuss the project and determine if it is appropriate for DIC. Similar to grants, all DIC projects will be coordinated by the Extension Operations office — either Dennis or Travis will work with you to complete a service agreement, scope of work, and budget, and to navigate the DIC review process before the agreement is signed by the company you will be working with. Please contact Dennis or Travis with as much advanced notice as possible.

Announcement Invitation:

The ELT invites you to submit items to be included in the minutes/announcements of the next regularly scheduled ELT meeting.  This is an opportunity to share with the ELT and the rest of the organization any of the following:

  • Notable programmatic accomplishments
  • Development or fundraising success
  • Significant new partnerships and/or opportunities
  • Important transitions

Please take the opportunity to share your good works through this avenue. Keep it brief…approximately two to four sentences would be appreciated. To submit an announcement, please contact your PA or appropriate member of the EL.

Please remember to visit University of Maine’s news site for additional University of Maine Cooperative Extension highlight.
