All About Aviation 4-H SPIN Club
University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering an aviation 4-H club for youth entering grades 7 through 12, on Mondays, July 6, 13 and 20, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the UMaine Extension office, 28 Center St., Machias.
The wonder of flying, from the dream to reality, from here to the stars.
Youth will explore the science and other aspects of aviation to understand how we can fly and how we keep it safe. Youth will learn about careers in aviation technology, take great pictures of aircraft, visit a maintenance facility and attend a summer fly-in show. With good flying weather, youth could take an optional local flight.
Three additional field trips — Machias airport (date TBA, contingent on weather), Bar Harbor Airport (date TBA), and July 25-26 for Houlton “Wings and Wheels” Show (date will be selected when weather forecast known).
