Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program and Whole Farm Revenue Protection for Aquaculture Producers
The deadline to enroll in the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) for 2020 coverage is September 1, 2019 for oyster, mussel, scallop and seaweed crops. Informational sessions will provide an overview of NAP, Farm Service Agency Farm loan opportunities, and Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP), an alternative risk management program. This is an opportunity for Maine aquaculture producers to provide input on WFRP. Feedback will be shared with the USDA Risk Management Agency to make WFRP policy improvements for aquaculture.
