Description:

– perennial

-leaf blade 2–12 mm in width

-spikelet 1.3–2.1 mm in length

-inflorescence

-There are six subspecies present in New England

– may be confused with D. boreale, which also occurs in wild blueberry fields; see left sidebar of Go Botany webpage
