Rick Colpitts

Rick Colpitts brings a distinguished career in educational leadership and a lifelong commitment to youth development to the Bryant Pond Learning Center Board of Directors. He currently serves as the Director and Superintendent of Education for Maine’s Unorganized Territories, overseeing educational opportunities for students in some of the state’s most remote communities. Throughout his career, Rick has served as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and educational leader, working to create innovative learning experiences that help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.

A strong advocate for experiential and outdoor education, Rick believes that meaningful connections with the natural world help build confidence, curiosity, and lifelong skills. He and his wife also operate a commercial pumpkin farm in Peru, reflecting their deep ties to Maine’s agricultural heritage and rural communities. As a longtime member of the Bryant Pond Learning Center Board of Directors, Rick brings valuable leadership, educational expertise, and a passion for creating opportunities that inspire the next generation.
