6th Annual Donation Drive for Preble Street Resource Center
By Sara Conant, Administrative Support Specialist 4-H
The University of Maine Cooperative Extension Staff in Cumberland County have held an in-kind donation drive for the past five years to benefit The Preble Street Resource Center in Portland, Maine. With the help our volunteers, members, and community, we’ve been able to donate hundreds of warm clothing and toiletries!
Ways you can help:
- Go through your winter clothing and donate items that you no longer wear.
- Purchase clothing items and/or toiletries to donate.
- Spread the word.
Items that Preble Street needs includes:
- Socks
- New Underwear
- New Travel-Size Toiletries including razors, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and hand lotion.
- Gloves/Mittens
- Hats/Scarves
- Towels
- Backpacks/Duffle Bags
- While we aren’t prioritizing these items in our drive we will accept the following: men’s jeans, boots/sturdy footwear, sweatshirts, winter coats, flannel and heavy shirts, thermal underwear, and belts.
Donations will be collected at the UMaine Extension Cumberland County office (75 Clearwater Drive, Suite 104, Falmouth, ME) from November 1 to 22, 2019, during office hours (M-F, 8:00 – 4:30, Closed Monday 11/11).
