Raising Backyard Poultry
In this free program geared towards beginning or prospective backyard and small-scale poultry producers, participants will gain a general understanding of what it takes to raise chickens for meat and egg.
This program will be led by Dr. Colt Knight, UMaine Extension Livestock Specialist. Topics will include poultry breeds, housing, health, and nutrition. We will also highlight various waterers and lighting options along with ideas for your do-it-yourself poultry equipment.
