Steve Cartwright
Steve spent several decades as a reporter and editor at various Maine newspapers, including one he created with Native Americans. His ancestors settled in the Portland area in the 1600s, but Steve grew up in New York City, summering in Maine and working as a counselor at Blueberry Cove Camp. He attended City College and later graduated from Bennington College. An apprentice to photographer Barbara Morgan, he took summer courses in photography and poetry at Harvard.
Steve and former wife Kathy have a daughter, Chelsea, in Belfast, and a grandson, Sylvan. A son, Joel, died in 2008. Steve loves to sail, swim, ski, dance, and run. He directs the Blueberry Cove 13.1 (half marathon). He and Tang the cat live in Tenants Harbor.
