Blueberry Hill Farm Field Day

This year’s big field day will feature a morning of IPM with UMaine researchers, and burgers on the grill for lunch, followed by an exciting afternoon.

9:00-12:00 Pest and Crop Management (2 pesticide credits)
Starts in Lower Field

9:00-10:00: Weed Management (Lily Calderwood and Josh Stubbs)

  • Tractor spray coverage demonstration
  • Herbicide stacking discussion
  • Testing your own soil pH

10:00-10:30 Pest and Pollinator Insects (Phil Fanning)
10:30-11:00 Disease Management (Seanna Annis)
11:00-11:30 Crop Management (Lily Calderwood and John Zhang)
11:30-1:00 Lunch (Beef and Veggie Burgers + Ice Cream!)- Three Bay Barn
11:30-12:15 Tony Shurman, Wyman’s of Maine President & CEO
12:15-12:30 Wild Blueberry Heritage Museum Awards
12:30-12:45 Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine Awards

1:00-2:30 Choose Your Own Adventure (three open stations)
