4.26.20 Mummy berry report April 24

The wet weather coming our way may cause mummy berry infection if your plants are far enough along to 30 to 40% F2 (crown stage), and you have mummy berry cups in your field.  Please check your plants.  With this warm weather, I suspect many plants will have moved along faster than had been expected.

Late last week, I had mixed reports on bud development and mummy berry development everywhere.  In the midcoast area, some inland fields, Hope and Searsport, had F2 buds as of Friday but were not at 30 to 40% F2.  Waldoboro, Brunswick and West Rockport were not as far along.  There were mummy berry pinheads in Hope and Searsport but not in other midcoast fields.

Some areas in Hancock and Washington county, Ellsworth and Blueberry Hill Farm, were getting close to 20 to 25% F2 but in other fields, buds were just starting to swell.  Pin heads have only been reported in Whiting and briefly in Ellsworth.

Please let me know how your mummy berry plots and plants are doing.
