Expedition 2: Falkland Islands

Located 300 miles off the southeastern coast of South America, the Falklands are home to some of the world’s largest penguin, seal, and sea bird colonies. The islands were also once home to an extinct species of fox called the warrah. How and when did the warrah reach the Falklands? In January and February 2016, Kit Hamley, Masters student, UMaine Climate Change Institute, traveled to the Falklands to unravel the mystery.
