Fruited Slaw

Crafted from diced pears, apples, shredded cabbage, and raisins, this Fruited Slaw recipe receives a burst of natural sweetness from a touch of fruit juice. It's a refreshing and flavorful twist on traditional coleslaw, perfect for any cookout.

Ingredients
  

Salad

  • 4 medium ¼-inch chopped fresh ripe pears
  • 2 medium ¼-inch chopped fresh apples
  • 2 tablespoons 100% fruit juice
  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • ½ cup raisins

Dressing

  • 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt (regular, Greek, or non-dairy)
  • 1 teaspoon 100% fruit juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions
 

  • Clean the kitchen area and wash hands with soap and water.
  • Gently rub fresh produce under cold running water.
  • In a large bowl, toss the pears and apples with the 100% fruit juice.
  • Add the shredded cabbage and raisins and mix well.
  • In a small bowl, mix all the dressing ingredients together.
  • Add the dressing to the salad and toss the salad until combined.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

Storage

  • Refrigerate any leftovers as soon as possible or within 2 hours for safety.
  • Use leftovers within 4 days.
