
Peanut Butter Balls
These Peanut Butter Balls are a great way to introduce children to cooking and food safety. With only four ingredients (nut butter, honey or maple sryup, cereal, and non-fat dry milk powder), this filling snack will be sure to satisfy all ages.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup nut butter or nut butter substitute
- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
- ½ cup instant non-fat dry milk powder
- 1 ½ cups whole wheat cereal flakes
Instructions
- Clean the kitchen area and wash hands with soap and water.
- Mix nut butter, honey or maple syrup, and dry milk in a bowl.
- Shape into 1-inch balls.
- Crush cereal into crumbs by putting flakes in a plastic bag and rolling with a rolling pin.
- Roll balls in cereal.
- Chill until firm for 30 minutes or longer.
Storage
- Refrigerate any leftovers as soon as possible or within 2 hours for safety.
- Use leftovers within 4 days.
- Leftovers can also be frozen in freezer-grade containers or bags and used within 3 to 4 months for best quality.
