Storytime in the Garden
August 28 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm
UMaine Cooperative Extension and the Old Town Public Library will co-host a free Storytime in the Garden series at the Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden, 914 Bennoch Road in Old Town, on five dates this season: June 26, July 24, Aug. 28, Sept. 18 and Oct. 30, 2026, from 10:30–11:30 a.m.
The program is geared toward preschool-age children, though older children are welcome to attend. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and a stuffed animal for storytime, after which children can explore the demonstration gardens. The event is free and takes place at the Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden, which has been a community hub for gardening education since 1994. The sessions offer a relaxed opportunity for children to engage with the natural world through stories and hands-on exploration of the garden.
No registration is required. The event is free and open to all. For more information, visit the Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden webpage.
