If you have any trouble with the system, please contact the office at 207.789.5868 or extension.tanglewood4h@maine.edu for assistance!

Summer Camp

Registrations are first come, first serve so early registration will help ensure you get into your desired program.

Please contact the office if you do not have access to the internet and need paper registration materials.

You can afford summer camp!

Scholarships

We believe that the joys of summer camp should be accessible to all children, and understand that for many families the cost can be a great financial burden. Our scholarship program and payment plans can help.

Maine families may apply for a scholarship (part of the registration process) towards the fees for one program session each year. We try to help as many campers as we can each year. Scholarships are first come, first serve and are awarded based on family need and the availability of scholarship funds.

Scholarship priority is given to those Maine families with Adjusted Gross Incomes less than $60,000 per year, although all applications and circumstances will be considered. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship please complete the scholarship section when you register for camp.

If applying for a scholarship, please choose “pay deposit only” when checking out at the end of the registration process. If you are not able to pay the deposit upfront, please call our office and we can make arrangements for a payment plan.

Once the registration is complete, we will award the scholarship and you will receive an updated statement in the mail. You can sign back in to make arrangements to pay your balance at that time.

4-H Members

If you are a 4-H member in Maine, make sure you indicate that on the scholarship application in the registration process.  We have funds from the 4-H Foundation set aside specifically for 4-H members attending Tanglewood or Blueberry Cove.  Please be sure to tell us your 4-H affiliation on the form – club name and county.

Waiting List

If a camp session is fully enrolled, you may elect to be placed on a waiting list in case a slot becomes available. The list is compiled in order of the date registrations were received.

As soon as places become available, you will receive an email letting you know space has become available and how long the space will be held for you. If you are notified of space and can not get online to register in the allotted time, please contact the office so we can reserve the space for you. Please be aware that availability can change on short notice.

A deposit is not required to be on the waiting list.

Payment

Payment can be in the form of a check in the mail or via credit card (Mastercard, Discover or Visa) through the registration or payment links above. If you wish you may pay in installments, so long as full payment is received at least two weeks prior to the start of your session (unless other arrangements have been made with the office.)

Please call the office at 207.789.5868 if you need to discuss payment arrangements.

Checks should be made payable to “UMaine Tanglewood”.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations received in writing at least 30 days prior to the start of a program will receive a refund of all payments made minus the $50 deposit for day camps and the $100 deposit for overnight camps.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made within 30 days of the program start date save for extenuating circumstances.

Regarding COVID and general illness prior to camp. Should your camper fall ill prior to their camp session, we will strive to place them in another camp session. If that is not possible, fees (less the deposit) will be moved forward to the following year.

Open Air Classroom Registration

If your child will be attending an Open Air Classroom field trip with their school, you can use the above online registration link to complete the paperwork required by Tanglewood & Blueberry Cove instead of returning the paper forms sent home by their teacher.

You will receive a confirmation email you can share with the teacher to confirm you have completed the paperwork online.

You will still need to return any paperwork required by the school such as the permission slip!

If your child has registered for any of our other programs using the online registration system, you will use the same login information, then choose to register for the Open Air Classroom session.

There is only one Classroom session for the whole school year and you will indicate what grade and school your child is in during the registration process. The date of the field trip is not necessary for this process.

There is no fee to use the system to register and complete forms for the Open Air Classroom programming!
