Summer Camp

Registrations are first come, first serve so early registration will help ensure you get into your desired program.

You can afford summer camp!

Scholarships

We believe that the joys of summer camp should be accessible to all children, and don’t want the cost of camp to be a barrier. Our scholarship program can help.

Maine families may apply for a scholarship (part of the registration process) towards the fees for one program session per camper each year. We try to help as many campers as we can each year. Scholarships are awarded based on family need and the availability of scholarship funds.

Scholarship priority is given to those Maine families with Adjusted Gross Incomes less than $75,000 per year, although all applications and circumstances will be considered. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship please complete the scholarship section when you register for camp.

If applying for a scholarship, please choose “pay deposit only” when checking out at the end of the registration process. If you are not able to pay the deposit upfront, please call our office and we can make arrangements for a payment plan.

Once the registration is complete, we will award the scholarship and you will see an updated balance in UltraCamp. You can then make arrangements to pay your balance.

4-H Members

If you are a 4-H member in Maine, make sure you indicate that on the scholarship application in the registration process.  We have funds from the 4-H Foundation set aside specifically for 4-H members attending Tanglewood or Blueberry Cove.  Please be sure to tell us your 4-H affiliation on the form – club name and county.

Waiting List

If a camp session is fully enrolled, you may register to be placed on a waiting list in case a slot becomes available. The list is compiled in order of the date registrations were received.

As soon as places become available, you will receive an email letting you know space has become available and how long the space will be held for you. If you are notified of space and can not get online to register in the allotted time, please contact the office so we can reserve the space for you. Please be aware that availability can change on short notice.

A deposit is not required to be on the waiting list.

Payment

During online registration you have the option to pay in full with a credit or debit card or to just pay the deposit and return to the registration system to make additional payments later.  A $50 deposit is required upon registration. Full payment is due 4 weeks prior to the start of your session. If you wish you may pay in installments, so long as full payment is received at least four weeks prior to the start of your session (unless other arrangements have been made with the office.)  Checks can be made out to UMaine Tanglewood and mailed to the main office at 1 Tanglewood Road, Lincolnville, ME 04849.

Please call the office at 207.789.5868 if you need to discuss payment arrangements.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing at least 28 days (4 weeks) prior to the start of the program will receive a refund minus the $50 registration deposit.

Cancellations received within 28 days (4 weeks) of the program start date are not eligible for a refund.

Program fees are not refundable due to illness, injury, homesickness, behavioral issues, weather, or voluntary withdrawal after the program has begun.

We strongly recommend that families consider purchasing travel or program insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Payment and Non-Payment Policy
Full payment is due no later than 28 days (4 weeks) prior to the program start date unless a payment plan has been arranged in advance and confirmed in writing. Accounts with outstanding balances after this deadline will be assessed a $50 late fee.

If full payment (including any applicable late fees) is not received at least 14 days (2 weeks) prior to the program start date, and no approved payment plan is in place, we reserve the right to cancel the registration and offer the space to the next participant on the waiting list.

Late fees will be waived for families awaiting confirmed scholarship funding upon timely communication with our office.

Open Air Classroom Registration

If your child will be attending an Open Air Classroom field trip with their school, you can use the above online registration link to complete the paperwork required by Tanglewood & Blueberry Cove instead of returning the paper forms sent home by their teacher.

You will receive a confirmation email you can share with the teacher to confirm you have completed the paperwork online.

You will still need to return any paperwork required by the school such as the permission slip!

If your child has registered for any of our other programs using the online registration system, you will use the same login information, then choose to register for the Open Air Classroom session.

There is only one Classroom session for the whole school year and you will indicate what grade and school your child is in during the registration process. The date of the field trip is not necessary for this process.

There is no fee to use the system to register and complete forms for the Open Air Classroom programming!
