The Year in Nature SPIN (Special Interest) Club is open to youth in York and Washington Counties, ages 5-18, who are interested in being part of a community of nature lovers! This group will meet throughout the year to observe, explore, draw, and listen to the natural world . The club is led by 4-H Professionals Erin McDonald and Brittany Foster.
Meetings
This is a hybrid club that will meet both virtually and in person. Virtual meetings will be held via Zoom where youth from York County and Washington County can discuss and share their experiences in nature. We will work on phenology wheels, nature journaling, and anything else our youth participants are interested in! In person meetings will take place in various nature preserves in both York and Washington Counties. You do not need to attend all meetings in order to participate.
Participant Responsibilities and Expectations
- Be respectful of each other and the natural places we visit.
- Participate fully in virtual and in-person activities, including a group nature journal.
- Be prepared for cold/muddy/rainy/hot weather during in person meetings.
- Participate in a community service project such as trash pickup and trail maintenance.
Does this sound like a club for you? Sign up today!
Register for as many (or few) meetings as you would like. We’d love to see you at every meeting, but we know you are busy! More dates will be added as the year progresses. If you participate in all four seasons, you can submit your completed phenology wheel to your county’s 4-H Exhibit Hall.
