AgrAbility eNote: A Monthly Update for AgrAbility Projects and Friends of AgrAbility

Maine AgrAbility Project Manager Lani Carlson has been involved in several activities with the newly formed Farmer Veteran Coalition of Maine (FVC-ME).

  • On December 3rd, AgrAbility joined FVC-ME at the Blacksmith Restaurant in Searsport for the viewing of the filmGround Operations- Battlefields to Farmfields. The snowy evening event drew many supporters as well as Commissioner of Agriculture Walter Whitcomb.
  • Several plans are scheduled to promote the FVC at the upcoming Agricultural Trades Shows, in Augusta in mid-January.  AgrAbility works closely with both the FVC-ME and the Maine Beginning Farmers Resource Network during this event to provide education and resources to beginning and transitioning farmers
As 2015 ended and 2016 starts, Maine AgrAbility was part of two farmer health articles serving as reminders to be mindful in your physical activities, remain healthy in the off-season, and don’t forget to cultivate your mind!
