Bryant Pond Learning Center
Preserving Place. Inspiring Discovery. Supporting Future Generations.
The Bryant Pond Learning Center (BPLC) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, enhancing, and stewarding the Bryant Pond campus for future generations. Through its partnership with the University of Maine, the BPLC supports the facilities, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability of the Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center, ensuring that youth, families, and communities continue to have access to exceptional outdoor education, conservation, and leadership experiences.
The BPLC owns the land and buildings that make up the Bryant Pond campus and leases them to the University of Maine, allowing the Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center to deliver year-round educational programming. A volunteer board of directors provides leadership and oversight in areas including fiscal stewardship, facilities management, capital improvements, fundraising, and community partnerships, helping to ensure the long-term success of the campus and its mission.
The BPLC is committed to maintaining a campus that is safe, welcoming, and sustainable while thoughtfully planning for the future. Through long-range planning and responsible stewardship, the organization works to preserve the historic character and natural beauty of Bryant Pond while investing in facilities and infrastructure that support the evolving needs of outdoor education and community engagement. This work helps ensure that the campus remains a vibrant resource for generations to come.
To support these efforts, the BPLC is organized into several working committees that focus on key areas such as facilities and grounds, community relations, long-range planning, and fundraising. Board members work closely with University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center staff, fostering collaboration and a shared commitment to the continued growth and success of the Bryant Pond campus.
The Bryant Pond Learning Center welcomes individuals who are passionate about outdoor education, conservation, youth development, and community service to learn more about board involvement. Those interested in supporting the long-term stewardship of the Bryant Pond campus are encouraged to contact Ryder Scott, Statewide Director of Maine 4-H Camps, at ryder.scott@maine.edu.
