Homemade Salsa

Whip up a batch of this simple Homemade Salsa with diced fresh tomatoes, corn, onions, jalapeño peppers, and lime juice. Enhanced with aromatic garlic, this flavorful dip is a surefire hit for any gathering or snack time.

Servings 6 ½ cup

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium finely chopped fresh tomatoes
  • 1 cup corn (canned, fresh, or frozen)
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped jalapeño peppers (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic

Instructions
 

  • Clean the kitchen area and wash hands with soap and water.
  • Gently rub produce under cold running water.
  • If using fresh or frozen corn it will have to be cooked before using it in this recipe. Cook frozen corn according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Mince garlic cloves.
  • Combine all the ingredients and mix well.
  • Serve with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables like carrots, green or yellow beans, zucchini squash, yellow summer squash, or broccoli.

Storage

  • Refrigerate any leftovers as soon as possible or within 2 hours for safety.
  • Use leftovers within 4 days.
