Professional Employee Promotion Process Deadline Dates

By November 1: Employee submits a letter of intent and downloads Promotion Review Application Form from Plugged In.

By December 1 or last business day prior to December 1 if that date falls on a weekend or holiday: Employee submits one (1) complete packet (with supplemental materials, i.e., bulletins, fact sheets, etc., placed at the back or in a separate binder) including the application forms and one (1) packet on a CD or flash drive including the application forms in one complete Word or PDF file document to Angela Hart.

By February 1: The Extension Professionals Promotion Review Committee (EPPRC) reviews each packet and makes a recommendation. The packet is forwarded to the employee’s supervisor.

By March 1: The employee’s supervisor reviews the packet and makes a recommendation. The packet is forwarded to the director or his/her administrative designee.

By April 1: The director or his/her designee makes a recommendation. The packet is forwarded to the provost’s office. The packet is reviewed by the provost’s office, Human Resources and forwarded on to the President’s office for final review. If a promotion is granted, the employee will receive a letter from the President.

By April 15: Applicants receive a copy of all three (3) recommendations.

By July 1: If the promotion is approved, it becomes effective on this date. (Promotions will be retroactive to July 1 if the process extends beyond the July 1 date.)
