ChartField Combination Format

All of our funds are managed using Chartfield combinations.  Here is the format:

Department _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (7) digits

Account _ _ _ _ _ (5) digits

Class _ _ (2) digits

Fund _ _ (2) digits

Program _ _ _ _ _ (5) digits

Project _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (7) digits

For example, most employees use this Chartfield for their University mileage:

Department 5400983

Account 61401

Class

Fund 22

Program

Project 5600804

Account Codes (PDF) indicate what type of expense.  It is very important that the correct Account Code is used for tracking purposes.
