Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Washington County

University of Maine Cooperative Extension Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program is free to parents or caregivers of children. EFNEP is also offered in Androscoggin, Aroostook, Cumberland, Hancock, Kennebec, Oxford, Penobscot, Sagadahoc, Somerset, and York counties.

In this FREE program you will learn to:

  • Cook new recipes
  • Choose healthy foods
  • Save money at the grocery store
  • Keep food safe to eat
  • Be more active

NEW PROGRAM- Food, Fun and Reading

Food Fun ReadingJoin the UMaine Cooperative Extension’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in this weekly, food-themed, virtual read-aloud group.  This program is available for youth ages 4 to 9 who reside in Washington County, Maine.

Starting Tuesday, March 9, 2021, and continuing weekly through April 13, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. join us over Zoom to learn about MyPlate and the five food groups. Each session will feature an interactive activity and a different Washington County library during the read-aloud portion. 

Adult participation required with children.

Learn alongside your child by receiving related videos and worksheets via email after every class.
