4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Training Workshops (Level I)
Participation in the 4-H Shooting Sports has steadily grown in recent years and with this growth comes a greater demand for volunteer instructors. The 4-H model is a comprehensive youth development program that utilizes shooting sports as a way of connecting with young people teaching life skills such as teamwork, respect, and discipline as well as safety and enjoyment. Currently there are certified 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors in every county in the state and that list is growing.
June 16 – 17, 2018 – Held at The University of Maine 4H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond
A training will be held at the 4-H Shooting Sports Headquarters, the University of Maine 4-H Camp & Learning Center at Bryant Pond, on June 16-17th. At this training, Archery, Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun instructor training will be offered. This training will be Friday evening through Sunday early afternoon training program with meals and lodging included. Cost for the training is $75 per person.
The minimum age to be an instructor is 21, and you must possess certification in the discipline that you would like to lead. Many folks end up getting certified in several different focuses, giving them growth and flexibility in what they can offer. This training will begin Saturday with registration at 8:30 am and Welcome & Orientation starting at 9:00 am . Program will conclude on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
